Short description

DCP measurement downstream of Neckargemünd hydropower station
DCP measurement downstream of Neckargemünd hydropower station

A vertical Kaplan turbine is installed at the Neckargemünd hydropower station on the Neckar River. A turbine controller is used for automated control of the turbine. The controller calculates the power plant flow as a function of measured water levels and the running turbine output. EnBW would like to check the accuracy of the flow rate determined in this way to determine whether the manufacturer's specifications and the parameters stored in the turbine controller are plausible. For this reason, several ADCP flow measurements with subsequent calculation of the power plant flows took place at the Neckargemünd hydropower plant. In order to establish an efficiency curve for the plant, measurements were carried out at five different flow rates.
